Today I was working on the store. A past time that was at one time much more interesting and enjoyable. I did go and work for an Insurance agency and a Point of Sale company for about 11 years. Now I am back and looking to pickup where I left off. All things have changed.
Global Markets have “assimilated” all things. I see it especially in technology. I was on the phone with one of my suppliers about the simple Computer Case.
The issue. You all want to buy things and do it simply. You want a great product, a great price, and a great delivery time. Or you want to just go into Best Buy and drop whatever they are charging for whatever it is right now and take it home. From my perspective all that is just fine. Do that.
My perspective. I am a service provider. I fix things. I build things. I bill for the work. I want to do all of that myself. I program this website to do it for me. Doing it this way is the only way to take what “the cyborgs” have out there and put it in my system. It is way more work. Because the main supply chain has a system like the one flower shops and Jewelers use to just populate the suppliers inventory on their sites. You put it in and its done. All that product is there.
To me that is fine. For most. Perhaps to my own failure I do not want to allow an outside entity to decide what content I display. HTML is a dangerous and interesting thing. It can use script language that runs directly on your computer to do things like make a slideshow happen or format some text. It can also be used for the purpose of spying, planting a virus, or changing prices site wide so my upstream can take away my ability to control something important like the price of the product. In the name of EASE do businesses just accept “the cyborg systems”? Yes.
Now the conversation about the case went as if I were speaking to a robot. The Asian woman, very professional but almost in-human, spent about 5 minutes explaining to me very specifically how that works. But she had no idea that you just want a case and I would love to sell you a case for the lowest price I can get it. As my supplier, they already provide over 10,000 products which I may never have time to populate here. However, she stated that cases do not move. They are hard to sell. So they are back ordered 3 weeks or more. If I put in an order they will “consider” asking the manufacturer of that case to purchase some.
That certainly does not work for you. Your just gong to go on Walmart, eBay, AMD, or amazon and buy it there. No surprise. Asia owns them too. There is nothing wrong with you being a good consumer either. However, because of this very phenomena it is hard to buy cases for resale right now.
Why not buy from the manufacturer? They wont talk. Nope. You have to be a distributor. They want big product movers. I am not a big product mover. I do not think I ever will be. The value I have is only something my customers can understand. That wonderful Asian woman has no clue what it means to call someone to fix a computer because its broken, to get me, then learn she needs components and then be catered to for the least cost possible from start to finish. That’s all I do. I do my very best to make sure your issue, whatever it is, gets resolved in the most efficient way.
So this is a rant about how things are in the market place. I did not throw Asia under the bus. Great continent spoken of in Revelations. However I mourn the loss of American Companies that took pride in their products and services. That worked together to provide something of value to the public. Now you just get on whatever “cyborg” website you like and buy it. It comes in the mail. Where is the quality and fun in that. You become a number. They just fill your “NEED?”.
I will probably take this post down but I find no pleasure in ranting and no one having a chance to see it from my perspective.
Praise GOD in HEAVEN. Praise YAHWEH! If your not on board with GOD consider your options. I believe he is going to “BURN IT TO THE GROUND” soon. I do not blame him.
